Our Board of Directors is intentionally comprised of community members without military service and community members who are veterans. Maintaining a Board with at least 50% civilians is important because we are a community integration organization.
Dave “Lowell” Hickey
Dave was born and raised in Maine. He has served multiple combat tours in Iraq, Kosovo, and Afghanistan, and is still serving. He completed his undergraduate work at Norwich University and his graduate work at Air University. Dave is the Founder of Boots2Roots.
John brings a wealth of Human Resources, Communication, and Leadership Development experience in the private sector to the Board. He has worked in the healthcare, technology/IT, engineering and manufacturing industries. John’s formal training includes undergraduate work in Psychology and Business as well as a Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education. He serves in a variety of capacities on a number of family owned Boards, each with roots in Maine.
Ted is a Founding Partner of Gilbert | Schaab Investment Management, based in Portland, and he has worked in a variety of roles in financial services since 1996. Ted is a Bowdoin graduate, has an MBA with a focus in small business entrepreneurship from Indiana University, a MSIM degree from Boston University, and graduated from the Yacht Design Program at the Landing School in Arundel. In addition, he has worked in the boatbuilding industry in Maine and on Cape Cod.
Kathy is a Real Estate Broker and has lived and worked in Greater Portland for over 30 years. Her knowledge of the area and its communities makes being in the Real Estate Industry a perfect fit. She prides herself on the relationships she has built thru helping Clients navigate the home buying/selling experience and is humbled to say those Clients have become treasured friends. Kathy is also passionate about giving back to the community and achieves this via volunteering with local organizations
